Chapter 2
In the second chapter of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Alice becomes lonely and desperate because she has no one around her to ask for help. She begins to cry and create a pool of tears. Alice does not know who she is and is seeking to find herself as a person. Nowadays, people tend to fall into depression very quickly. When you think about depression you most likely will think of your emotional problems. People may even have physical pain and anxiety. In the story, Alice is very very sad and can not help but feel hopeless. It also relates to a teenage girl going through puberty when they go through different emotion switches. When Alice was in the room she started crying over things that make no sense at all. This relates because teenagers usually start crying over the most dumbest things like if they drop the last chip on the floor because their emotions are unstable. When she was talking to the mouse she was really upset when the mouse didn’t want to talk to her. I feel this relates to a teen because when they are with friends they always want to know that they want to talk to them and they always try to know what’s wrong with them. Gray represents sadness so the connection between Alice being upset, depression, and a regular teenage girl, helps you realize that Alice is in a similar state. White represents the rabbit which shows its purity and innocence.
