Chapter 2

In the second chapter of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Alice becomes lonely and desperate because she has no one around her to ask for help. She begins to cry and create a pool of tears. Alice does not know who she is and is seeking to find herself as a person. Nowadays, people tend to fall into depression very quickly. When you think about depression you most likely will think of your emotional problems. People may even have physical pain and anxiety. In the story, Alice is very very sad and can not help but feel hopeless. It also relates to a teenage girl going through puberty when they go through different emotion switches. When Alice was in the room she started crying over things that make no sense at all. This relates because teenagers usually start crying over the most dumbest things like if they drop the last chip on the floor because their emotions are unstable. When she was talking to the mouse she was really upset when the mouse didn’t want to talk to her. I feel this relates to a teen because when they are with friends they always want to know that they want to talk to them and they always try to know what’s wrong with them. Gray represents sadness so the connection between Alice being upset, depression, and a regular teenage girl, helps you realize that Alice is in a similar state. White represents the rabbit which shows its  purity and innocence.

Chapter 1

The first chapter of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland was about Alice seeing a rabbit dressed in clothes and following it down a rabbit hole. While falling, Alice is calm and acts as if she isn’t falling .When reaching the bottom, Alice sees a key and finds the door to it but it is too small. After drinking a liquid, she shrank and she realized she didn’t have the key. To try and solve her problem, she ate a cake labeled “EAT ME”. We believe that 2016 relates to Chapter one because there are a lot of curious children that are growing at an increasing rate. For example, the article about a transgender teen relates to Chapter 1 because in the story, Alice is going through change when she falls down the hole and ends up in a different place. Her moods also change which causes her to lose her innocence. The transgender teen is going through change because he was most known as the “Obama care kid” who was basically the miniature health care activist and now, he is coming out with something different. Another example of this would be a video we found about this five year old that had done a back bend flip and became paralyzed. We believe this relates to Chapter 1 because the little girl was curious about things and tried to do flips that she was not ready for and tried to grow too fast and hurt herself because of this. In Chapter 1 Alice was curious and ended up falling down a rabbit hole because of her curiosity. The young girl (Alice) represents innocence because as she falls down the hole it becomes dark and black. Black represents death so, Alice’s innocence is disappearing.
