Chapter #3

In chapter three of The  Adventures of Alice, Alice was  in an ocean of her own tears. When Alice was swimming in her tears she followed the other animals to an island where they ran around in circles to dry off in a caucus race.  After they finished running, they all got a prize from Alice and Alice got one herself. I feel that this part of the story relates to the meme because Alice is swimming in an ocean of her own tears and it would be helpful to have a boat. The water from her tears represents change in which Alice is feeling desperate and depressed. I find the picture relatable in two parts, one that it is related to her crying, but also to the caucus race. The caucus race relates to politics and how people used to come into a cabal which is when a group of people come together secretly. This relates to 2016 because in an election they run a caucus race to see who wins, but in the story no one really wins the race, everyone does. In Chapter #3, they also all had left Alice when she had started to talk about her cat at home. The animals took their children home and then after that Alice hears footsteps suspected to be the mouse. I think this relates to 2016 because, when people dislike something they try to avoid it. It reminds me of how parents had acted in movies about the homeless, they would pull their children closer and then try to walk past them like they weren’t there. Alice is one person which shows that she is by herself and that she is the only human in the story so far.
